Proper nutrition is vital for your Cavapoo puppy's growth and overall health. Understanding their dietary needs will help you provide the best start in life.

Feeding Guidelines

  • Meal Frequency: Feed your puppy three times a day—morning, midday, and evening.
  • Portion Control: Offer approximately 1/4 cup of dry food per meal, adjusting as needed based on your puppy's appetite and growth.
  • Monitor Intake: Ensure your puppy is eating consistently; lack of appetite can indicate health issues.

 Choosing the Right Food

  • High-Quality Ingredients: Select foods with whole meats, animal-based proteins, good fats (Omega 3 & 6), fruits, and vegetables.
  • Avoid Harmful Additives: Steer clear of foods with artificial preservatives, fillers, or by-products.
  • Recommended Brands: We like to feed our pups Blue Buffalo and Taste of the Wild as a solid nutritional baseline.

Transitioning Foods

  • Gradual Change: When switching foods, do so over four days:

  • Day 1: 100% original food

  • Day 2: 75% original, 25% new

  • Day 3: 50% original, 50% new

  • Day 4: 25% original, 75% new

  • Monitor for Reactions: Watch for any signs of digestive upset during the transition.

By providing balanced nutrition and monitoring your Cavapoo's dietary needs, you support their development into a healthy and energetic adult dog.
